organization has fought to improve the lives of working families whether they were members or not. The
IBEW helped pass basic laws that many now take for granted. These include the 40 hour work week,
overtime and minimum wages, family and child medical leave, workplace safety laws, equal pay for women
and minorities, and job protection when our soldiers come home from deployment. Almost every industry
in America that has in America that has provided stable middle class incomes has had unions and
partnerships between management and their employees. IBEW has a reputation amongst employers as a
firm but fair partner who works to ensure employees grow as their companies do.
who works to ensure employees grow as their companies do.

The IBEW is about a lot more than just better wages and working conditions, however, we are also leaders
in our communities.

Members Making a Difference.

Each year IBEW Members volunteer hundreds of thousands of hours in service to communities in which
they live.  Because of their stable work lives, IBEW members can also spend more time with their families
than most workers do.  From its earliest days to the strong international organization the IBEW is today,
our members have made a difference all across our country.
